Retimi means Rethymnian, since Retimo was the Venetian name of Rethymno.
For us, Retimi also stands for Rethymnian Independent Brewery.
The challenges were many, as the venture began during the pandemic, a time when prices of raw materials, technological equipment, and transport costs skyrocketed.
Nevertheless, its founders – Kostas Papadakis, Ilias Iliakis, and Loukas Kounos – with patience and persistence, managed to bring to life in Gonia, Rethymno, not just an ambition or a personal dream, but the creation of a high-quality beer that truly has nothing to envy from the dominant imported breweries.
In a highly competitive environment, the advantage of this new Rethymnian beer lies in its taste and quality.
